Introduction

INL is seeking a highly qualified and self-motivated Research Laboratory Assistant to work an explorative research project for the development of a specific detection system for Pseudomonas and Acantamoeba.

Job Role & Key Responsibilities

As a Research Laboratory Assistant targeted on the development of Nano-aided detection system for Pseudomonas and Acanthamoeba you will take on a key role within the following responsibilities:

  • Participate in the development of a specific detection approach for Pseudomonas and Acanthamoeba by combining specific antibody recognition and the use of gold nanoparticles as labels;
  • Contribute with a background in the field of optometry, evaluation of problems related to contact lenses use, and vision threatening diseases.

 Job Requirements

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

  • Degree in Optics, Optometry or related fields;
  • Background in Optometry and Orthokeratology;
  • Experience on diagnostic tools for ocular diseases;
  • Applicants with international mobility experience will be highly evaluated.

 Personal Skills

  • Strong motivation to work both independently and as part of a team in an interdisciplinary environment, with the ability to pay close attention to detail and to meet deadlines;
  • Availability to attend workshops and conferences, and to engage in collaborations with researchers in other laboratories. 

Languages

  • English is the working language of INL. Upper advance level in oral and written English is required.
  • Working knowledge of another language is an advantage.
