The Department of Network and Systems Engineering consists of about 20 teachers, researchers and doctoral students who contribute to a high professional standard of intensive work and quality results, as well as a pleasant and open environment. The staff has an international background and the working language is English. The department is internationally well-established, has many research collaborations with excellent partners all over the world and is involved in several European and national projects.


project Description


We are looking for 1-2 postdoctoral students with background and interest in mathematics, optimization, machine learning, networking, system theory. Our research projects will support these postdoctors in the areas of optimization and machine learning with application to the Internet, wireless networks or cyber-physical systems of things.

Applicants must have a doctorate or a close degree in the subject of electrical engineering, computer science, mathematics or the like. Applicants should have a strong background in at least one of the following areas: optimization theory, machine learning, wireless networks.


The chosen candidate needs an excellent academic qualification, well-developed analytical skills, as well as skills in problem solving. We are looking for a highly motivated candidate who can work independently. Good knowledge of English in spelling and writing is necessary to publish and present research results in international conferences and journals. The candidate may be involved in the research project to 20% of the employment. The ability to approx. 5% of the job involved in teaching is a plus.

The employment is limited to 1 year with the possibility of renewal for another 1 year.
